As well as helping with hires to members of the public, recent major work includes the hire of 1000 costumes to the Screentime/Channel 10 mini-series Jessica (2003); hire and manufacture for Screentime/Channel 10 mini-series Mary Bryant (2005); manufacture of mascots for clients including ANZ, Edgells, Jarlsberg Cheese, Pacific Seeds and Fantastic Furniture; and design and manufacture of some of the costumes now being used in the showrooms of various global cruise liners (2002-2005).

Rolando Cano, Costume Hire and Manufacture

Rolando has worked in the performing arts and TV in Mexico, the UK and Australia. His professional journey to his current position running ABC Resource Sales's costume hire and manufacture business, started in Mexico, where he studied at the Mexico National Institute of Graphic Arts.

His first employer was the Ballet Folkloric De Mexico, where he was a dancer, teacher and Assistant to the Artistic Director. In the 1970s, Rolando worked for the London Festival Ballet in the Costume Making Department, as a dresser for West End shows and pantomimes at the London Palladium and as a milliner and accessory maker for the Covent Garden Opera House.

Rolando arrived in Australia in the late 1970s, as Ballet Master for an international dance company, "Dance Concert", for which he not only danced, but also choreographed and designed costumes. For just over 20 years Rolando's expertise has been employed at the ABC. Rolando looks forward to discussing your costume hire requests or manufacture projects.
