There is something brewing in the Tasmanian city of Launceston. In November last year it opened the doors of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk, a world-class conversion of the historic railway yards into an arts precinct. This gave the small Launceston community of 65,000 people the fifth largest museum and art gallery in the country.

The Great Hypocritical
The Great Hypocritical was an innovative, cabaret-style hypothetical initiated by the Byron Shire Council, and devised and hosted by local artist Stella Kinsella. The Council wanted to educate local residents and business people about a range of controversial compliance issues, including illegal buildings, onsite effluent management systems, pet registration, busking and footpath dining. Above all, they wanted the issues to be presented in an entertaining and non-threatening forum.
