> 3/4. An Isle Full Of Noises
> 4/4. The Backyard Muse
> Coo-ee! The Concert
This four part series was first broadcast on ABC Classic FM in October of 2005. Presented by Vincent Plush, the programs take you on a journey through Australia's musical heritage. Discover the nation's treasure trove of musical gems, curiosities and masterpieces thanks to the national digitized collection at Music Australia and the music collection of the National Library of Australia.
Vincent is joined by Australian Music and Curator of Music Robyn Holmes from the National Library as they bring you the stories behind the music in the personal reminiscences of Australia's composers and performers held in the National Library's vast collection of oral history interviews, diaries and correspondence.
From the grandeur of yesteryear's large-scale orchestral works and operas, to the nostalgia of music-hall tunes, jingles and the rousing chorus of patriotic anthems, Canberra's Calling is a rare chance to hear more of Australia's musical heritage.
