SUNDAY LIVE: Live broadcast from Perth - 3.00pm
Broadcast live from Perth Town Hall, this afternoon's concert features Margaret Blades (violin), Michael Goldschlager (cello) and David Wickham (piano) performing: Schubert - Piano Trio in B flat, D28 (Triosatz); and Beethoven - Piano Trio No 7 in B, Op 97 (Archduke).
IN PERFORMANCE: Australian Chamber Orchestra – 8.00pm
Recorded earlier this year in Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Richard Tognetti are joined by Gondwana Voices to perform: Shostakovich arr Tognetti - String Quartet No 15 in E flat minor, Op 144; and Michael Yezerski/Richard Tognetti - The Red Tree.
THE LYRIC VOICE: Gorgeous Moments in Music & Literature – 9.30pm
The Lyric Voice is a program of readings from literature, poetry, drama, novel and more, set in a context of great music. Shakespeare, Joyce, Yeats, some great Australian writing, as well as music from unexpected corners can all be heard.
IN PERFORMANCE: Grainger Quartet – 8.00pm
The Grainger Quartet - James Cudderford (violin), Natsuko Yoshimoto (violin), Patrick Murphy (cello) and Jeremy Williams (viola) – perform: Haydn - String Quartet in G, Op 76 No 1; David Harris - Terra Rapta (Stolen Land) (World premiere); and Schubert - String Quartet in G, D887. Recorded earlier this year at Adelaide Town Hall.
IN PERFORMANCE: Cleveland Orchestra – 8.00pm
The Cleveland Orchestra, joined by Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Kelley O’Connor (contralto), Todd Boyce (bass), Leif Ove Andsnes (piano), Frank Peter Zimmermann (violin) and Franz Welser-Most (conductor) perform: Golijov - Last Round; Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto No 1 in F sharp minor, Op 1; Stravinsky - Requiem Canticles (1966); Brahms - Violin Concerto in D, Op 77; and Dvorak Symphony No 5 in F, Op 76.
IN PERFORMANCE: West Australian Symphony Orchestra – 8.00pm
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Brett Dean (viola) and Lothar Zagrosek (conductor) perform: Brahms - Symphony No 3 in F, Op 90; Brett Dean - Viola Concerto; and Mahler - Symphony No 10 in F sharp (Unfinished): 1st movt (Adagio).
