Welcome to the Coodabeens

Irreverence, wit, humour and the odd tall story are the order of the day when The Coodabeens take the microphone. Jeff Richardson, Ian Cover, Greg Champion and Billy Baxter are the Coodabeens and you can catch them on ABC Radio 6.30 to 9pm on Sunday nights. (AEST)

THE COODABEEN CHAMPIONS SATURDAY NIGHT SOIREE

Last Saturday saw the first of the Coodabeens new Saturday night summer season program, The Saturday Night Soiree, and what a way to kick off!

Renowned opera singer, David Hobson joined the boys to launch his new album of pop songs, A Little Closer . The highlight of David's visit was his two songs accompanied by our very own jingle-jangle-jukebox, Champs!

The boys decided to have a bit of fun on Saturday in the lead up to the NRL Grand Final, cold calling the Manly Leagues Club in Sydney to see how the mood was there. With a bit of negotiating, the boys were put through to the green room where Anthems of Oz were about to rock out!

And this was all just in the first weekend!

Over the summer, the Coodabeens will be on your radio in the 7-10 slot. Its not strictly The Idlers from previous years, but will incorporate some of the magic that made The Idlers a popular Summer listening experience.

ROB SITCH

Hollowman and good friend of the Coodabeens, Rob Sitch joined in on the fun on Sunday night live in the studio with the boys (see right).

Rob was in to have a chat about his new ABC TV show, The Hollowmen and about anything and everything else that came to mind!

The Coodabeen Champions Launch Good Health. Master It!

Yes, it is common knowledge, The Coodabeen boys are now well into the age groups for Masters Games. Champs has even won some medals.

So the boys are taking their involvement to another level. The Coodabeens, along with former Triple World Aerobic Champion, Olympic Gymnast and Olympic Water Skier, Sue Stanley are Ambassadors for the 12th Australian Masters Games to be held in Geelong, Victoria in 2009.

Sue joined the boys on Sunday, May 18 in launching the Good Health. Master It! fitness program, an initiative of the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) and the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

The program aims to provide advice to thousands of Australians on their health and fitness in order to achieve long term health benefits.

If you want to get involved, just click on the link below to complete an online survey and recieve feedback on your current health and fitness levels. Once you have completed it, you will have access to a fitness program developed by Ms Fitness herself.

The Coodabeens' Theme

The Coodabeen Champions are often asked about the theme music which introduces both their Saturday footy show and the Sunday night program. It is the theme from the movie The Good, The Bad and The Ugly composed by Ennio Morricone. The Coodabeens use the version by Hugo Montenegro and His Orchestra.

You can hear a little of the Coodabeens' Theme by clicking above!
