Trevor Bormann
Trevor Bormann has been travelling and reporting overseas for the ABC for fifteen years, and is now Supervising Producer of Foreign Correspondent.
He grew up in country South Australia, and began in newspapers and regional television before working in Melbourne and Sydney for the Nine, Seven and Ten networks.
Trevor joined the ABC in 1987, and later became Network Editor of television news.
He covered the 1991 Gulf War for ABC- TV, and found himself back in the region reporting on the Iraq war in 2003. Trevor was Middle East correspondent in the early nineties, and established the ABC's bureau in Amman, Jordan. From there he also covered conflict in Afghanistan and war and famine in Somalia.
A Walkley award winning journalist, he has also reported for the ABC from North America, South East Asia and the South Pacific.

Awards
In the Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism, announced November 27, China Correspondent Stephen McDonell won the Best Coverage of the Asia-Pacific Region category with a package of stories covering the Sichuan earthquake, the Three Gorges Dam, China Internet and the violent crackdown by China on Tibetan students protesting in Beijing.
In the UN Media Peace Awards announced on Friday October 24, Middle East correspondent Matt Brown won the TV Current Affairs category for "Syria - Iraqi Refugees" and Eric Campbell received a Special commendation for his story from Armenia, "Ghosts of the Past" .
