After years of isolation from the west, the North Korean government invited Foreign Correspondent's crew into the Hermit Kingdom to cover the International Festival of Sport and Culture for Peace.

Amongst the many spectacles and sights witnessed by reporter George Negus was the Children's Palace, a showplace of the Nation's Youth.

Women Sing Every Sunday in Youth Park, Pyongyang's version of central park, hundreds of elderly women, many of them war widows, gather in the "The Pavillion of Affectionate Love".

Here they find a place to dance, sing and chat and to remember their past and lost loves.
