Alex Barratt

Alex Barratt trained in medicine and then public health and is currently an associate professor of epidemiology at Sydney University where she works in the Screening and Test Evaluation Program.

Before joining the University she worked with the breast and cervical cancer screening programs in Australia. More recently she has made decision aids for people considering the pros and cons of bowel and breast cancer screening (in Australia and Canada) and thyroid cancer screening (for the US government).

She recently produced Facing the evidence, a two-part series on evidence-based practice, for The Health Report on Radio National.
