Another public hospital executive has resigned in Adelaide.

General manager of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, David Norton, is quitting to move to the Fire and Emergency Services Commission.

Other top executives have resigned from jobs at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and Women's and Children's Hospital this year.

Public sector doctors waged a bitter campaign for better conditions and pay rises and tendered mass resignations at the height of their dispute.
