Former Mi-Sex manager jailed over child sex offences

Posted August 18, 2008 12:00:00

The former manager of 1980s band Mi-Sex has been sentenced to four years' jail for child sex offences.

Robert Yates, 62, from Katoomba in New South Wales pleaded guilty to four charges after having sex with a 15-year-old girl he met on the internet.

The Victorian County Court heard Yates flew to Melbourne to have sex with the underage girl at a Ringwood motel.

The judge said it was an enormous fall from grace for a man who had led an exemplary life.

Yates will serve a non-parole period of two years.
