Police probe attempted kidnapping

Police are seeking information from the public about a break-in and attempted kidnapping at Byron Bay yesterday morning.

At 4:00am AEST, a 61-year-old woman was working alone in a cafe on Clarkes Beach when a man forced his way in and threatened her with a weapon.

The man is described as being of European appearance, slim build, about 175 centimetres tall, aged in his late 20s or early 30s.
