Posted August 26, 2008 11:24:00

A Philippine Air Force (PAF) C-130 transport plane with two pilots and seven crew members aboard is missing in the south of the country and has probably crashed, PAF Chief Lieutenant General Pedrito Cadungog said.

The plane took off from Davao Airport in the south on Monday evening (local time) and radio contact was lost 10 minutes later, he said in a radio interview.

A massive search with helicopters and light aircraft is underway within a 30-kilometre radius of Davao Airport, other officials said.
