Table tennis teen keen for Paralympics competition

Posted August 29, 2008 09:18:00

A 14-year-old table tennis player from Victoria's south-west says she is counting down the days to compete in her first Paralympics.

Allansford's Sarah Lazzaro was born with a bone disease that bows the legs.

She will compete in singles and doubles table tennis events at Beijing.

She says she is hoping to make the finals in her singles event.

"I'm feeling fairly confident, there's eight people in my group and I'm ranked seventh, so there'll be two groups of four and then the top two of each group will go off and play," she said.
