Finkernagel tribunal appearance deferred

Posted August 29, 2008 13:40:00

Shoalhaven councillor and mayoral candidate John Finkernagel's appearance before the Department of Local Government's Pecuniary Interests Tribunal has been deferred for at least a month.

In its most recent annual report, the tribunal says it is alleged Mr Finkernagel failed to absent himself from or admit he had a pecuniary interest in several council matters, including Verons Estate.

Mr Finkernagel was due to appear before the tribunal today, but the hearing was adjourned because a witness was unavailable.

A tribunal spokeswoman says the matter will convene again in October or November this year.
