Police in Perth say they have receive more than one hundred telephone calls to Crime Stoppers after a public plea for information on the Claremont serial killings.

They say the calls were sparked by security footage of Jane Rimmer outside the Continental Hotel on the night she disappeared in 1996.

The footage shows Ms Rimmer briefly interact with a man who police have been unable to identify.

Members of the Special Crime Squad are now sorting through the information.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Twamley says they are expecting even more calls.

"We're very happy with the response we've received from the public so far," he said.

"We've had over a hundred calls to date and we're predicting that by this evening that'll be in the region of two to three hundred calls, including a large number from over east due to the national coverage."
