Boating officers in pay dispute for Harbour patrols

Posted September 7, 2008 12:25:00

Boating safety officers are in a dispute with the New South Wales Maritime authority over pay for night patrols of Sydney Harbour.

The State Government ordered increased patrols in the wake of a series of fatal accidents, including the death of six people in a crash near Bradleys Head in May.

New South Wales Maritime and the Maritime Union will return to the Industrial relations Commission for talks this week.

The union says the safety officers want more than a penalty payment on their base wage.
