Mal Meninga has signed on to coach the Queensland State of Origin team for the next three years.

Meninga has delivered three consecutive series wins since taking the reigns in 2006, and could become the first coach in Origin history to lead a team to four in a row next year.

The new deal, the first of its nature in Queensland Origin history, will see Meninga lead the Maroons until the end of the 2011 series.

"We're very pleased to have Mal on board for a further three seasons," QRL boss Ross Livermore said in a statement.
