St Kilda has received some welcome news ahead of Saturday's AFL preliminary final against Hawthorn, with Justin Koschitzke cleared to play.

Koschitzke was reported for engaging in rough conduct against Shane Wakelin during the Saints' win over Collingwood on Saturday.

Vision showed Koschitzke slamming Wakelin to the ground after the Magpies player had relinquished possession of the ball.

But the AFL match review panel has ruled that it did not Koschitzke's action unreasonable in the circumstances.

It said the tackle "was all in the one motion with Koschitzke holding Wakelin at all times, and was not two separate motions"

"The player would not have been aware the ball was out of bounds, nor that Wakelin had disposed of the ball during the tackle," a statement read.

No further action was taken against Koschitzke or any other player booked on the weekend.

Sydney Swans defender Leo Barry was cleared of striking the Bulldogs' Shaun Higgins while three other contact incidents were all assessed and dismissed.
