Tasmania's emergency response to the threat of an abalone virus may be wound back this week.
It is appearing less likely the ganglioneuritis virus is present in the wild fishery.
So far 757 abalone samples have returned a negative result to the virus.
Only one has tested positive for the disease but a second test has returned an inconclusive result - further testing is underway.
Three diseased fish were found in a processing plant last month.
A meeting with be held between the Department of Primary Industries and the abalone industry this week to discuss winding back some of the restrictions on the movement of fish.
