Fans are paying tribute to former Australian Idol contestant Levi Kereama following his suspected suicide at the weekend.

News Limited publications say Kereama died in a suspected suicide just hours after performing at Brisbane's Parklife music festival on Saturday.

Queensland police confirmed they attended an inner-city hotel balcony fall at 10:30pm.

A spokeswoman said the death was being treated as suicide.

Several tribute pages have been set up on social networking site Facebook.

Tony Tjin posted a message on behalf of Kereama's family.

"I would like to say thank you for your prayers and kind messages, it's great to know that he touched so many people's lives," he wrote.

Kereama was a contestant on the first season of Australian Idol in 2003, singing alongside Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll in the top 12.

Despite being eliminated in week four, the 27-year-old found success with his family band Lethbridge.
