Six to face court over pub brawl

Six people, including three from the same family, will appear in court charged in relation to a pub brawl in Wollongong's northern suburbs over the weekend.

Police were called to a hotel in Pioneer Road at Towradgi just before midnight on Friday to break up a fight involving about 20 people.

Two of the 18 police officers called to help security staff at the hotel were assaulted during the brawl.

A 50-year-old man, his 50-year-old wife and their 22-year-old son all from Woonona have been charged with various offences.

A 27-year-old woman from Wollongong, a 24-year-old man from Bellambi and a 20-year-old woman from Tarrawanna have also been charged with hindering police.
