A man accused of stabbing another at Norwood on Monday has faced Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Warren Craig Stevens, 38, of Kensington Gardens did not apply for bail during a short hearing.

The victim, Robert Staehr, is in a critical condition in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

It has been alleged the two men were travelling in the same car with two women shortly before the alleged attack, in The Parade.

Stevens will return to court later in the month.
