Property owners cleared of river agreement breach

Posted October 10, 2008 09:32:00

The owners of a south-west Queensland property have been cleared of any breaches affecting water flows in the Murray-Darling River system.

The Queensland Government ordered a new inspection after a New South Wales academic claimed there had been illegal works on the property, south of Eulo, that were in breach of the Paroo River Intergovernmental Agreement.

Water Minister Craig Wallace says investigators found no breaches, after a team went to the property to examine the claims.

He says the property owners have taken steps to make more efficient use of the available water.
