What do you a give a man who has everything? Well, in the case of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, it seems a tiger is the perfect birthday gift.

Mr Putin has just turned 56, and one of his presents was a two-month-old female tiger cub.

The birthday boy told Russian media he loved the present and said the as yet unnamed cub would be soon moved to a zoo.

This is not Mr Putin's first close encounter with a tiger.

Last month, he reportedly saved a TV crew from a Siberian tiger when he shot it with a tranquilliser gun.
