Lobby group urges more trail bike tracks

Posted October 11, 2008 14:00:00

It is hoped a plan to free-up more land for trail bike riders will take pressure off south-east Queensland's environmental parks.

The Council of Mayors group discussed the issue at a meeting in Brisbane yesterday.

They plan to ask for State Government backing and Paul Pisasale from Ipswich says it is time to address the issue.

"We know there are some tracks of land around south-east Queensland," he said.

"They're all within the one hour radius of each other so let's work together and create a nice environment for a great industry with the trail bikes, but keep them out of our environmental parks and around suburbs."
