Poll predicts rough Ryde for Labor

Posted October 12, 2008 08:02:00

A poll of voters in the New South Wales seat of Ryde is predicting a backlash against Labor at next weekend's by-election.

The Taverner poll of 500 voters in the seat predicts a collapse of Labor's primary vote to 24 per cent.

On a two-party preferred basis the poll puts Labor's candidate Nicole Campbell on 36 per cent and the Liberal Party's Victor Dominello on 64 per cent.

Also holding by-elections next Saturday are the seats of Lakemba, Cabramatta and Port Macquarie.
