Woollen mill announces growth plans

Posted October 15, 2008 20:00:00

A Tasmanian woollen mill has entered into an alliance with a Melbourne merino company in a bid to expand international sale opportunities.

The Waverley Woollen Mill near Launceston is trying to expand its brand internationally after the company was restructured earlier this year.

In February, Waverley axed 20 jobs after losing part of a contract with Qantas.

It's hoped the mill's new alliance with 'The Merino Company' will open up international markets through a global sales and marketing team located throughout Europe.
