Kibbutz out of Caulfield Cup

Posted October 16, 2008 15:25:00

Trainer David Hayes has confirmed Victoria Derby-winner Kibbutz has been scratched from this Saturday's Caulfield Cup because of a foot injury.

The four-year-old gelding will be replaced in the field by the Danny O'Brien-trained Barbaricus.

Kibbutz's foot abscess burst on the weekend and Hayes hopes to rest up his charge for the Melbourne Cup next month.
