A story of survival: Sirin Phathanothai

Born into a life of privilege, Sirin Phathanothai was the daughter of one of Thailand's leading political families in the 1950's. Her father was Chief Advisor to the Thai Prime Minister of the day. In a secret treaty of friendship with Communist China, her father sent Sirin and her brother to be raised by Zhou Enali, the second most powerful man in China after Mao Tse Dong. Sirin became caught up in the Cultural Revolution and suffered persecution and was not reunited with her family for many years.
