Citigroup cuts more than 50,000 jobs
US banking giant Citigroup will slash 52,000 jobs on top of the 23,000 it's already shed this year. This comes after the bank lost more than $30 billion dollars so far this year as a result of the financial crisis. New York, America's financial hub, will bear the brunt of the cuts, which are the latest in a long list of lay-offs in the city's financial sector.
