Piracy in the Gulf of Aden
Two more cargo ships have been hijacked by Somali pirates near the Gulf of Aden. A Hong Kong cargo vessel and a fishing boat, along with 37 crew, were seized only days after pirates captured the massive Sirius Star, which was carrying $150 million worth of crude oil and 25 crew. The tanker has now docked off the coast of Somalia and will remain there until the ship's Saudi owners pay a hefty ransom for its release. The recent spike of piracy in the Gulf of Aden is forcing a rethink on how to protect international trade.
