Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu has had an amazing year. He's released his first solo CD to great acclaim, both here and in Europe; he's received recognition at the NT Indigenous Music Awards; he's picked up two ARIAs; and he's in demand for performances at major Australian music festivals. In this Music Deli, you can hear his performance for the Melbourne International Arts Festival in October.

In this weeks Music Deli two contrasting performances. The first comes from Sudanese born singer Ajak Kwai and band recorded at the Toff in Town in Melbourne in October. The second performance features the great reggae band Mista Savona led by Jake Savona and recorded by us at the Manning Bar in Sydney in July.

In August Tina Harrod released a CD called Worksongs, and to celebrate its release she performed at the Basement in Sydney, accompanied by the musicians who recorded the songs with her. We recorded that performance and it's featured in this week's Music Deli.

In this week's Music Deli, performances from the Masters Concert that was part of the 2008 World Shakuhachi Festival held in Sydney in July 2008. Local and visiting musicians were featured in the concert in the City Recital Hall, Angel Place.
