Latent autoimmune diabetes of adulthood (LADA)
Type 1 diabetes can occur in adults of any age and many GPs are unaware of this. Many doctors have found it difficult to diagnose LADA. This is partly due to the fact that both types of diabetes, type 1 and 2, can occur in the one individual.

Aspirin for the prevention of heart attacks
Researchers from Scotland investigated whether aspirin and antioxidants given together or separately can reduce heart attacks and death in patients with diabetes and arterial disease.

Brain activity and insomnia
Researchers in the Netherlands investigated differences in functional brain activation as a possible result of chronic insomnia. They then looked at the reversibility of these differences after non-medicated sleep therapy.
