There's so much quality new material [again] this week, that I'll only pluck out a couple of highlights. Hatchback with a wonderful take on 80s progressive synth sounds, new Nitin Sawhney chronicling modern life in London [post tube bombing], Portuguese cross genre mayhem from debut for Buraka Som Sistema.... and that's just a peek.

Reinterpretations of Steve Reich and Kraftwerk start the program, then material from a Queensland violinist, live Herbie Hancock, new young Victorian lad with a great ear for electronic, metal influenced Italo disco [no kidding], and Matthew Herbert with his big band... show tunes like you'd never expect. All in the first hour.

Lots of goodies this week, with the main gem being the title track from the new album by Johann Johannsson. It's first up, so don't miss it.

So much new release goodness that it is almost wrong to put them all on one show! New from Swedish bass player who calls himself Beatundercontrol, new Mr Scruff, great compile of the collected works of Mo'Horizons, new Brazilian delights from Sonates, local soul from the Ray Mann Three, French sweet electro-pop from Holden, new project from various luminaries from the 80s travelling with a duo who work under the name of Caned & Able, great cross genre/cross cultural work from Gang Gang Dance, Necessary Intergalacitc Cooperation from Norway, The Clash live [at last] from Shea Stadium, new CSS and Tony Buck from the Necks with a completely different project - all of that takes my breath away.
