Searching in one site only
If you want to look for content within a certain site, just type the word or phrase you are looking for, then:
site:www.nameof site.com
|
This will search for the words "Silver Sun" only in www.abc.net.au |
Searching for file types
Say you want to find content on the internet that's not just on a web page, but can be viewed as a word document.
This will bring up any Bananas in Pyjamas related content that can be viewed as a .doc file (Microsoft Word file).
Other file types you can look for are mp3 (audio files), swf (flash files), dcr (shockwave files) and pdf (acrobat reader files), to name a few.
See which sites link to your site
How about this nifty little search trick? Just say you want to find out what other sites link to your site, or a site you like. Hey... what other sites link to Rollercoaster? Just type:
link:www.nameofsite.com
