Delta Goodrem
The TV soap Neighbours has a reputation for launching the careers of some of our favourite singing stars, Kylie Minogue, Holly Valance and Natalie Imbruglia to name a but a few. The latest singing sensation from Neighbours, Delta Goodrem, is something quite different though. Delta offers a more hands on soulful songwriters approach to music and has already distinguished herself with the hit song Born To Try. Rollercoaster caught up with Delta on the eve of the release of her new single Lost Without You. We asked her the questions that you sent in. Here's what she had to say.

How did u get into acting and singing?
I have been singing for as long as I could talk. I started performing at school and drama classes when I was 7.

Yes, for as long as I can remember.

I was very young, but I started lessons when I was around 7.

You said you wrote your first song when you were 12 - what was it called and why don't you record it?
My first song was 'Raindrops Fall'. I wrote other songs around the same time that were much better and I have recorded some of them.

I really want to sing but I don't think I have a strong enough voice (or a big-enough mouth :p) can you give me a couple of tips on singing really loud but nicely?
I think it's important to have professional lessons or advice. Everyone is different, your voice range could be identified and then you will be able to work safely with it ' but don't push it!

If you had to make a choice between acting and singing what would your choice be?
I wouldn't like to make a choice, but I love to sing.

I recorded Born To Try in New York. It took about a week.

Do you ever like just hang out at the mall/shopping centre, and do other normal stuff like that in your spare time?
Since the release of my single 'Born To Try' I have been so busy completing the album as well as my busy Neighbours schedule I have not had much spare time. When I do get the chance I just love to hang around at home with friends and family.
