For NSW Waters between Seal Rocks and Cape Byron
Issued at 11:15 pm EDT on Tuesday 2 December 2008

Synoptic situation
NW/NE winds increasing along the north coast ahead of a trough during Wednesday.

Strong Wind Warning
For the Far North and Mid North Coasts From Seal Rocks to Cape Byron

NW/NE winds increasing to 25/30 knots Wednesday morning. Sea rising to 2 to 3
metres. Swell about 1 metre.

The next warning will be issued by 5 am Wednesday

Please be aware
Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here,
and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.

CANCELLATION SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

Issued at 6:32 pm Tuesday, 2 December 2008.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in NSW and the ACT.
The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will
continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES [NSW and ACT] on 132
500.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's
website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 218. The Bureau and State Emergency
Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

FOR RURAL AREAS ALONG THE NAMOI RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF GUNNEDAH TO WEE WAA

Flood Warning Number: 10
Flood waters are receding faster than expected downstream of Boggabri where the
Namoi River peaked at 6 am this morning (2/11/08). The main flood peak is
expected to reach Narrabri late tonight (2/11/08) causing some minor rural
flooding.
Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Narrabri - Peak below minor flood level late tonight (2/2/08)

Wee Waa
- Peak around 5.5 metres with minor flooding Wednesday night 3/12/2008

The Paroo River at Willara Crossing is close to peaking at its current level of
0.95 metres. Some disruption can be expected to local traffic at Willara
Crossing over the next 24 hours.
