AgForce to approach government for rail investment
Agforce says it will speak with government to try and guarantee Central Queensland has availability to Grain Trains.
Central Queensland farmers were turned away from some Graincorp depots with their wheat crops this year, as they were full and could not handle anymore.
The bulk storage and handler Graincorp says the reason the depots are full is there is the availability to grain trains.
AgForce's Lindsay Kreig says he will approach government about getting grain off the roads and making an investment into the rail network.
Central Queensland to combat weeds with $360,000
The Federal Government has announced $360,000 to combat Central Queensland weeds.
The Capricorn Pest Management group won the grant as part of the Caring for our Country scheme.
The organisation's Trudy Baker says the money will be used in a coordinated approach with landholders and especially focusing on Hymenache.
