For the West Coast.
Issued at 3:50 pm CDT on Thursday 8 January 2009

Synoptic situation
a high [1025 hPa] centred well south of the Bight is expected to move slowly
east to be centred south of Mount Gambier on Friday.

Strong Wind Warning
for the West Coast.
S/SE winds strengthening to 23/28 knots from late afternoon until late evening.
Seas: rising to 2 to 3 m. SW swell 2 to 3 m.

The next warning will be issued by 10:00 pm CDST.

Please be aware
Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here,
and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
