A thick band of cloud is crossing SA and western VIC with a broad trough, generating widespread rain. Cloud over the east ahead of the trough is causing only a few showers in southeast QLD. Scattered cloud over southern WA in cold southwesterly winds is bringing showers.

A broad trough is crossing the interior, causing widespread light rain to spread over SA, western VIC and southwest NSW. Cold southwesterly winds are bringing showers to southern WA, mainly coastal. Warm, humid northerlies are causing showers in southeast QLD and northeast NSW. The southern jetstream shows a sharp upper trough over the Bight, helping rain to develop over southern Australia. The northern jet is carrying moisture from the Indian Ocean to the central interior.
