Renewal of warning for roads in the eastern half of Tasmania
Southeasterly winds will tend strong and gusty about the northeast parts of the midlands and Tamar Valley overnight, posing a hazard on exposed roads, bridges and causeways.
For information regarding road closures, contact your local council or Tasmania Police.

Renewal
Warning to Sheep Graziers for northeastern and eastern grazing districts. Colder than average temperatures, combined with scattered showers and fresh to strong southeasterly winds may result in losses of susceptible sheep. Conditions are expected to ease overnight.

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for Damaging Winds in areas northeast of a line from Bicheno to Devonport.
Issued at 10:10 pm on Saturday 22 November 2008
Synoptic Situation: A low to the northeast of Tasmania is expected to intensify tonight and only move slowly away overnight.
Southeast winds strong enough to bring down some tree branches and powerlines are expected this evening and overnight. The strongest gusts are expected to be 90 km/h.
Recent Events: Gusts of around 92km/h are currently being observed at Eddystone Point.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should secure loose outside items. The next warning is due to be issued by 5:00 am Sunday

Statement: The rain has eased and the scattered showers expected tonight will ease by morning. There is no longer a flood threat.

Synoptic Situation A low pressure system to the northeast of Tasmania is deepening, with another low centre expected to form to the east of Tasmania during Sunday as the other low weakens.
Gale Warning For the Northwest, Central North, Northeast and the Upper East Coast Sandy Cape to Wineglass Bay In the Northwest - Southerly winds 20 to 30 knots, locally 35 knots at first. Seas 3 to 4 metres. In the Central north - Southerly winds 20 to 30 knots, reaching 35 knots offshore and in the east before easing early morning. Winds lighter inshore. Seas to 3 to 4 metres offshore. In the east - Southeast winds 25 to 35 knots, 30 to 40 knots east of Flinders Island, locally 45 knots. Seas 4 to 5 metres. Confused swell to 1 metre in the north, south to southeast swell 1.5 to 2 metres in the east, south to southwest swell 2 to 3 metres in the northwest.
Gale Warning For the Lower East Coast, Wineglass Bay to Tasman Island South to southeast winds 20 to 30 knots, reaching 35 knots offshore in the north overnight. Seas to 3 to 5 metres offshore. Southerly swell to 1.5 metres.
Strong Wind Warning For the Southeast Coast, Tasman Island to South East Cape Southeast winds 15 to 25 knots, reaching 30 knots at times in the east. Seas 2 to 4 metres. Southerly swell near 2 metres.
Strong Wind Warning For the Central West Coast, Low Rocky Point to Sandy Cape South to southeast winds 20 to 30 knots. Seas 2 to 4 metres. South to southwest swell 2.5 to 3 metres decreasing to near 2 metres during Sunday.
The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am EST
Please be aware Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
