Behind the News joined in the Harmony Day expo at The Adelaide Secondary School of English and Croydon High.
The students and teachers come from many parts of the world. On Tuesday the gym and surrounds were filled with enthusiastic singing, dancing, colourful national costume, banners and orange ribbons showing their commitment to intercultural harmony. Others took part in sport, face painting, flag making, hair styling, drumming and eating a range of tasty food.
Kerry and Sarah enjoyed watching Afghani, Greek and African dancers perform as they decorated students' bodies with ABC tattoos.
The combined choir had recently hosted the Tanzanian Golden Pride choir, which performed at WOMAD and the Commonwealth Games. Their time with this choir was obviously amazing as they entertained everyone with their songs of celebration. As everyone joined in a very rhythmical version of the National Anthem it became quite apparent that Harmony Day is much more than one day of the year in Croyden.
