Now it’s time for this week’s passionate collector. Judith Sweet is aptly named. She has been cooking succulent food for grateful gluttons since she was 10 years old.
In a 30 year career that includes teaching, broadcasting and running restaurants, she has amassed a collection of culinary objects that would fill several kitchens.
Judith's passion is obviously entertaining! It all started with a hand written cook book from her school days full of important things like ginger beer recipes and 'invalid cooking' tips!
She has gathered much of her collection from her travels overseas. She has an obsession with moulds and has a table runner for every occasion. She also has many candles with which she sets the mood of a dinner party and subdues bright light.
She also has a large collection of glass compotes and she assures us that they all get used! Most things in Judith's collection are for use and nothing is locked away.
The kitchen is still the centre of the home in many households, so there is a real nostalgia associated with kitchenalia.
