Max from Brisbane is a retired lecturer in architecture. At first he was reluctant to collect, but his collection of red objects started to grow as a joke. His first object, a china red coloured salt and pepper shaker. Wondering whether there was any point having only one set, a collection of red salt and pepper shakers started to accumulate to accompany the original set. After a while Max began to gather more and more red objects, not only salt and pepper shakers, but anything at all until he had shelves full of different kinds of red objects.
Max is quite specific about the colour red of his objects must be. Post box red or fire engine red is the only colour he will accept. When amassed on the shelves they create an eye-catching display that has become a real talking point.
