Amy and Patrick love Humphrey B Bear. Their dad would always bring home weird and wacky collectables so when he started bringing home Humphrey collectables from his travels, the kids got right into it. Amy and Patrick like Humphrey because he is an Australian icon. He has been around since 1965 and was created by Adelaide TV station NWS Ch 9. One thing to look out for over the years is Humphrey’s different waistcoats and the changing shape of his eyes over time. Most of the Humphrey objects were picked up from markets and garage sales. Amy and Patrick guesstimate that they may have between 40-100 pieces in the collection. They have two very collectable watches from 1965 both with the original band.
Amy and Patrick like each piece to look well loved. They prefer their objects to be ‘lived in’ as they see it as part of the character of the piece rather than a flaw.
