Steve, a teacher from South Australia, finds the design of such everyday items as dish brushes and mops so alluring that he collects them.
He started out with a few dish brushes as a design aid for his secondary school students. He continued to use them as demonstration items in university lectures with engineering, industrial design and home economics students. A passing interest in the items turned into a passionate obsession, Steve’s collection began to grow. He now has 670 brushes and mops which he has acquired from all over the world. Unfortunately he has never found another dish brush/mop collector with whom to share his passion.
Strangely enough, Steve’s very utilitarian collection is in pristine condition. They will never been used as Steve prefers an automatic dishwasher!
At present the brushes and mops are stored in boxes, but Steve plans to build an annex to his home so he can display the collection.
