Ernie Paddick has an incredible collection of 22,655 decorative frogs that has filled a 50’ x 20’ shed in his garden.
It’s called ‘Ern’s Frog Heaven’. Ern believes he has the largest collection of frogs in the world and he’s keen to register it with the Guinness Book of Records. Frogs are one of the most popular items in the world to collect.
Ern’s collection started when he created a small but interesting display of cute ceramic frogs in various human-like poses. Now his shed is full to the brim, but he believes he can still squeeze a few more in. Ern spends around $200 a week on collecting frogs.
Ern’s frogs are made from all sorts of materials. They range in size from a very large frog that’s almost as big as he is to a tiny one as big as his fingernail. Some of the types of frogs Ern has in his collection are a water feature, letter box, glassware, wall hangings, boxer shorts, tea towels and all manner of household items. He has no doubles.
Ern loves frogs and this collection highlights the incredible popularity of these little creatures as collectable ornaments.
