This week’s “Mystery Object” looks like it could have come from the props cupboard of a Harry Potter movie set. The expert team aren’t so sure and will have to use some ‘wizardry’ of their own to work it out.

With the item still closed Adrian comments on its Asian design. When the panel opens it up they notice the intricate gimbal mechanism in the centre which shows traces of something that has been burning inside, such as incense. They finally all agree it could be a type of ceremonial object used for swinging or hanging while the incense burns inside.
