A lot of manufacturers deliberately create Christmas giftwares that can be collected, and it’s around this time of the year Adrian enjoys exhibiting his own collection at home.
For many years Royal Copenhagen produced a series of evocative Christmas plates featuring various scenes celebrating the festive spirit. The idea eventually caught on in Britain too with Spode Christmas plates and even Wedgwood releases their own variety. Adrian’s collection also includes a locally made plate from Bendigo Pottery. However his favourite Christmas ceramic is a pair of angels by Martin Boyd.
If you’ve watched the opening to Collectors on TV you may have seen Adrian’s soldiers marching across the screen. What are they? They are Christmas nut crackers of course.
Amongst Adrian’s vast vinyl collection are some festive musical treats as well. Two of his favourites are May West’s Underneath The Mistletoe and Rolf Harris’ song Six White Boomers.
