Episode 34, Friday 3 October 2008
Father and son Hedley and Glenn Shaw must have one of the biggest tractor collections in Australia, put together over 58 years. Not only do 87 (or maybe 93 they think) real tractors neatly line the outside of two sheds, there are lots more inside.
In another room there is a vast collection of model tractors, sales brochures and other ephemera relating to tractors. Hedley’s first tractor was a Little Grey Fergie. Glenn is gradually taking over the collection with an enormous passion, equal to his dad’s. Glenn says, “I’m a kid who never grew up.”
Hedley and Glenn have big collections of other model vehicles such trucks, fire engines, motor bikes and 700 Citroëns! Glenn also owns a 1954 Citroën 2CV … full-sized.
